Mighty Bash, Entangling Roots, Hibernate, Rake Stun and Maim (when playing Feral Affinity) make a pretty solid kit. In past expansions, you were kind of forced to pick Guardian Affinity since it was super good but it has been nerfed big time, so now you can actually go for the affinities which makes it fun. Having said that, your offensive toolkit can be quite interesting since you can actually spec into Feral Affinity and get away with it without dying. Usually, your win condition with a Mage/Hunter is winning on CC as well, so that is why. Cyclone is now baseline and this is GREAT! It is especially good to use if you are playing with a Mage that assists you with Polymorphs so you can actually get the Cyclones off easily, or a Hunter to follow up on the trap. Restoration Druids have been known for the Cyclone ability for a long time now because it was the tool that allows you to make plays to win the game or at least move it in your favor. Success often comes down to reading the whole pace of the game, knowing how to move and where to move at all times, and seeing your win conditions. Restoration Druid is probably the healer that requires the most time played on it compared to any other healer since you will have to predict what is going to happen in most games before it actually happens. You have GREAT mobility as a Resto Druid, so it is necessary that you play it a lot in order to succeed without dying or letting your teammates die. It is a decent buff we received in 9.0.1. The GCD removal on Innervate is definitely interesting since you will be able to use Innervate before you know you will have to provide a lot of heals and spam your HoTs on your target(s). Your goal should always be to do the correct amount of healing, trying not to overheal too much with your healing over time (HoT) effects in most cases. You can assist your team offensively and defensively at the same time. Restoration Druid is a very versatile healer in almost every way possible.
